As I sit here grappling with the heaviness of your absence, my heart aches for the sister and friend I’ve lost. Your seven-year battle with breast cancer was a testament to your strength, courage, and unwavering love for your precious kids, Isley and Lauren.

Your “private struggle”with only a few of us knew, mirrored your desire to shield them, always whispering, “keep it on the low.” It’s difficult to accept that you’re no longer physically here, even though I feel your spirit lingering. The news of your passing hit me unexpectedly, leaving me devastated and questioning why you had to leave so soon.

You had dreams of more travels and cherished moments with your kids. I remember our conversations about your yearning for exploration, asking excitedly, “Where is this? I want to go!” You were more than a friend; you were a remarkable connector, a dedicated lawyer, and an advocate for so many.

If only you had let more of us into your struggles, we could have surrounded you with the love you freely gave to others. You were a guiding light during my own challenges, sharing tips for coping with the side effects of chemo, like that special mouthwash that brought comfort during tough times. Thank you for helping me, even when you were in the midst of your own battle.

I recall the moments we spent together during my chemo sessions, silently praying for strength and discussing our plans for the future. Your text to me during the most challenging time of my chemo treatments, “We got this! You would tell me. Now, you’ve embarked on a different journey, leaving us behind. The cancer may have taken your physical presence, but it never took away the way you lived life on your terms, fiercely protecting and cherishing your kids.

Rest in peace, my Sweet Inga Dyer. Until we reunite, I’ll hold onto the memories of our laughter and the joy we found in planning our next outfits together. You will be deeply missed, and your legacy of strength and love will endure.
